The Selby

Nikki Selby is a retired U.S. Navy Nurse Corps Officer with over 23 years of service. She started out her Naval career enlisting as a Search and Rescue Corpsman/Aircrewman, qualified in mountain rescue and as a surface rescue swimmer. Nikki went on to become a commissioned officer and spent the remainder of her service as a Navy Nurse Corps Officer. She deployed to various regions of the world to include a humanitarian mission days after the 2010 Haitian earthquake, on the ground with a damage control surgical team with the Marines in Afghanistan and on the amphibious warship USS Makin Island, where she was the only critical care nurse for over 5000 personnel within the Amphibious Readiness Group.

Nikki continues her service by advocating and helping to raise awareness for the Hunter Seven Foundation, who are leading the community in research for the negative effects burn pits have on our veteran ¢â€žÂ¢s health. She is also part of the Global Surgical Medical Support Group where she has volunteered in Kurdistan to help train the Peshmerga medical teams in advance life support. As a co-host with the Mentors for Mil podcast, she is still able to help mentor veterans in leadership, transition from military to civilian life and many other topics that affect those who serve. Nikki also volunteers on the San Bernardino Sheriff Air Rescue team, where she continues serving her surrounding community in Search and Rescue efforts.
